Day in the Life
Camp Chilltown
For ages kindergarten - 6th grade
We have awesomely creative counselors who love to plan fun days for our campers! Our counselors have themed activities they know the children will love planned all day both for indoor and outdoor time.
A typical camp day starts with arrival/free play, opening ceremony which is a gathering of campers to play a fun themed "get to know you" game and song/dance. Then they move to their first planned indoor activity. We may get crafty with art, bounce around with a dance class or enjoy another fun activity the counselors have planned. After this first activity, we have snack time and get ready to go outside.
Outside time is a blast! Our counselors have planned either a themed game or sport to encourage teamwork and then re-energize with a picnic lunch. After lunch, it's free play for the kids to dig in dirt or just play with friends. We stay outside for 2-3 hours. Some warmer days we hit the sprinkler pad or take a trip to the pool!
We explore many areas of Lincoln Park because there are so many great places to go! We come back inside and the children have time to decompress with free play for about 45 min. We have one more indoor activity followed by our closing ceremony where we wrap up the day.
We have weekly themes so indoor and outdoor activities are focused on those activities. For example, if the theme is Star Wars, we might play Death Star soccer and build droids out of recycled materials in art. Our rooms are all decorated and set up with Star Wars toys and materials to set the scene. We also have weekly themed events so Star Wars week we have Jedi Training and Darth Vader visits to test our skills!
